Undefeated former two-division titleholder Shakur Stevenson will take on hard-hitting Japanese Shuichiro Yoshino in a 12-round elimination battle for the WBC lightweight world title on Saturday, April 8 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs), former featherweight and super featherweight champion, returns home after his win against Robson Conceição last September
WBC top ranked Yoshino (16-0, 12 KOs) is a former champion from Japan who posted a 104-20 record as an amateur. After seven defenses of his Japanese lightweight belt, Yoshino rose higher in the ranks following an impressive 2022.
