World Boxing Council bantamweight champion Yuliahn “Cobrita” Luna, will defend her title for the first time, against Mayeli Flores, this Saturday, at the BUAP Arena, in Puebla, Mexico.
“Cobrita” Luna won the world title in October 2020, when she defeated the legendary Mariana “Barby” Juárez. Since then, two non-title bouts, defeating Bárbara Martínez and Karla Valenzuela.
Luna will enter this fight with a record of 22-3-1, 4 knockouts, while Mayeli Flores has a record of 8-0-1. In her most recent fight, she defeated Susy Sandoval in four rounds.
This Friday they both warriors passed the official weigh-in without problems. Luna registered 116.8 pounds, while Flores weighed 117.2 pounds.
The event is organized by Promociones del Pueblo and will be broadcast by ESPN.
