Spectacular Finale of the Amazing Muay Thai Festival in Venice

Following on from a resounding success in Thailand,  with the historic event “Muay Thai Festival” to promote it as a jewel of the national heritage and a pillar of Thai culture, it was decided to expand The Amazing Muay Thai Festival, so it arrived in all of its brilliant vivid splendour in Venice,  from June 22 to 25.

The Event inspired and exuded camaraderie, goodwill, reinforced with the spirit of competition at the highest level, of participants from around the world, who are building a bright promising future.

After three days of intense activities with spectacular Muay Thai fights in four rings, ring officials seminars, clinics, public training, reunions, WBC Cares event, the Muay Thai Festival Venice came to an end with a spectacular and memorable award ceremony.

The president of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman, attended the three days of competition with the firm intention of preserving the legacy of his father Don José and building on it, in order to fulfil a promise.

On November 22, 2001, the beloved King of Thailand Bhumibol Aduluyadej met at his palace in the capital Bangkok with WBC President for Life Jose Sulaiman and General Kovid Bhakdibhumi to ask them to use their considerable and diverse experience, inspiration. ideas and energy to thoroughly and comprehensively develop the ancient sport. of Muay Thai.

Don José promised to do everything in his power to achieve this. The first step was to establish WBC Muay Thai, classify fighters around the world, sanction championship fights, creating an impetus to proactively and globally promote the sport and its rich culture.

Muay Thai is now flourishing in more than 50 countries worldwide. The strategy is to include ever more Muay Thai bouts in the main World Boxing Council championship events, to highlight and highlight its brilliance and tremendous potential.

The Amazing Muay Thai Festival Venice, which was attended by more than 1,200 people with 441 fighters representing 47 countries, was specifically created, designed and intended to nurture promising prospects from all over the world, by providing them with a structured global platform. Mission accomplished! So far, so good!
