WBC Diamond champion, Callum “Mundo” Smith (26-0, 19 KOs) destroyed former middleweight champ Hassan N’Dam (37-4, 21 KOs) in three punctuating rounds on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Towering Smith dropped N’Dam with a short left hook counter in round one and shell shocked N’Dam had problems beating the count.
Smith floored N’Dam again early in round two. N`Dam who was sporting fur trimmed shorts, was again shocked to his fur trimmed boots!
Referee Charlie Fitch stopped the bout at 2:56 of the third round, after a disoriented N’Dam who`d tried to fight off extraordinary adversity, incredibly bravely got up from a pile driving right hook. He sportingly congratulated the Champion.
“I felt good,” Smith said. “It felt great to be back in there. … I believe I’m the best in the world and I plan on proving that over the next couple of years. And I’ve got no injuries. A good, quick win, a fan-friendly win, and I hope the fans liked it. And I’ll be able to be back out soon and push on to bigger and better things.”
