Shawn Porter not spooked by “A Ghost of a chance”
World Boxing Council welterweight champion Shawn Porter fights Cuban Yordenis Ugas on March 9 on a Premier Boxing Champions card in Las Vegas, fully aware of the potential of unknown factors!
Porter defined Ugás as a “Ghost” at 147 pounds, translucently reflecting how few people really know, understand and appreciate the great talent of the Olympic medalist in the realm of professional boxing.
“This is a situation rather similar to what happened to me in 2013, when I defeated Devon Alexander,” said Porter, prudently and sagely recalling: “Nobody knew who I was back then. It was supposed to be just another victory for Devon Alexander… but I handily defeated him. I certainly won`t allow that to happen to me with Ugás!”
Porter is in the know about Ugás, partly because they had a lively sparring session, when the Cuban was preparing for his fight against Levan Ghvamichava in February 2017.
Knowledge is power!
