World Boxing Council Welterweight Champion Shawn Porter, didn’t mince words, in a hard hitting interview with Chris Walker of Sky Sports, prior to this Saturday`s championship decider against IBF champion Errol Spence Jr.
“Boxing for me right now is about looking at the fighters in my division which can motivate me and for me to give everything. Errol Spence is a fighter who does that and that’s where I want. At this stage of my life I already forgot the defeats, and only look forward to triumph.
“The fights that matter to me are the ones that will make me the best welterweight on the planet, and that starts with Errol Spence in my next fight. After that I would like to face Manny Pacquiao.”
“Next Saturday’s is a fight for two belts. Champion versus champion, so what is at stake is huge for the winner and the entire welterweight division. The winner will be number one and there is no doubt about it, so this is all for me. Errol Spence is a very good fighter, the most important test of my career, but I don’t think he is a better fighter than me.”
