Selby and Martinez can`t wait for WBC elimination bout
Julio Cesar “Rey” Martinez (13-1-0, 10 ko’s) fights Andrew “Superstar” Selby (11-0-0, 6 ko’s) tomorrow, at the Metepec Exhibition Center, leading a Zanfer card that will be transmitted by the Casa del Boxeo, Azteca 7.
This attractive combat will be a World fly championship elimination bout, endorsed by the World Boxing Council.
Martinez, 24 years old, lost in his debut in October 2015, by split decision, against rival Joaquin Cruz who had a record of 5-0-0. But since then he has notched 13 victories, 10 of them by knockout, among them: former world champion Edgar Sosa, Martin Tecuapetla, Iván Meneses and Víctor Ruiz.
Selby represented the United Kingdom at the 2012 London Olympics and is brother of former world champion, Lee. In October of last year, he defeated a Mexican fighter, Max Flores, and this will be his first match outside the United Kingdom.
Both fighters surpassed the official weigh in.
Andrew Selby: 112 Lbs.
Julio Cesar Martínez: 111.5 Lbs.
