Rey Vargas wants to fight Leo Santa Cruz

The super bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Council Rey Vargas has just sent a message to world champion Leo Santa Cruz, in order to offer boxing fans one of the best fights of all 2019.

“Previously we looked for this fight and there was no agreement because I was not a world champion. Now  I am and there is no reason to refuse it. This fight has to come, so what better than at this moment,” said Vargas.

Vargas Roldán (33-0 and 22 KO’s) comes from his successful fourth defense of the green and gold crown after defeating Ronny Rios, Azat Hovhanisyan, Oscar Negrete and Franklin Manzanilla.

“Leo is technical and he also knows how to fight toe to toe.  I think it would be a very good fight, we are both Mexicans and we both know how to stop and exchange blows. It would be a fight of strategies inside the ring. We both have power, we both have endurance and we both know how to fight 12 rounds.”

Rey, who is represented by Promociones del Pueblo and Golden Boy Promotions, has been demonstrating his quality in Mexico and the United States for some time, and he hopes that this fight can be settled very  soon.
