Reckoning Day’s Big ensuing Night in Saudi Arabia
Boxing galore in Saudi Arabia’s “Reckoning Day” at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, after the sun set.
Anthony Joshua defeated Otto Wallin by technical knockout in the fifth round after an onslaught. After yet another combo from Joshua drove Wallin against the ropes, he was being battered. The bell saved him from KO, but after the round his team made the wise and humane decision to save him.
In another fight, Joseph Parker defeated the favorite Deontay Wilder by unanimous decision.
Thirty eight year old Wilder was ponderous, lacking zip in his blows from the outset. Parker exercised his dominance headlined with powerful right hands, and constantly making Wilder retreat. The American experienced the second defeat of his career, even casting doubt on a possible fight against Anthony Joshua.
Daniel Dubois overcame constant pressure and a nearly 100-pound weight disadvantage by stopping American heavyweight Jarrell Miller. The Referee ruled a technical knockout in the final round of the bout.
