Possible mega fight Haney vs. Lomachenko

Next year there could be a long-awaited fight between the unified lightweight champion, the American Devin Haney and the former champion Vasyl Lomachenko, from Ukraine.

For Vasyl it would be the possibility of returning to stardom after the hard fall of 2020 against Teófimo López, when he lost all the titles he held up to now.

In case of facing Haney, it would be a great challenge for the Ukrainian in the search to recover the 135-pound world titles.

“I think we might have an announcement soon. I don’t know the date but I’m sure it will be a great fight,” commented Bill, father of the North American champion, in an interview with Fighthype.

In Vasyl’s case, the intention to have this new opportunity took a lot of effort. After his defeat, he has remained active and achieving important victories.

legendary promoter Bob Arum commented: “We have already agreed to some important terms and conditions. Both Haney and Lomachenko are interested in a mutual duel, which makes negotiations much easier for us. Soon we will have a big announcement”.
