
WBC welterweight champion Shawn “Showtime” Porter, will face his compatriot, IBF champion, Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr., in a thriller this Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Porter (30-2-1, 17 KOs) was crowned a year ago when he defeated Danny Garcia. He made a defense against Cuban Yordenis Ugas, defeating him by decision. He is a fighter who seeks to constantly himself. Opponents have included Adrien Broner, Keith Thurman, Kell Brook, Andre Berto and Devon Alexander.
Meanwhile Spence Jr. traveled to England in May 2017, to defeat Britain’s Kell Brook at home and be crowned world champion.
Errol (25-0, 21 KOs) has faced his share of quality fighters, namely: Lamont Peterson, Carlos Ocampo, and Mikey Garcia, whom he defeated earlier this year.
Surefire… Porter vs. Spence Jr. will be a classic. The winner will go home with two world titles and the recognition of being the best in the 147-pound division.
The fight is organized by Premier Boxing Champions, and will be broadcast on FOX.
