Pertti Augustin, The Pride of Finland and The Joy of the World Boxing Council, has died in hospital in Helsinki.
Pertti was a so valued and invaluable stalwart of the Finnish Boxing Federation, the EBU and the WBC. His selfless service to Boxing encompassed more than half a century. As a Supervisor he meticulously oversaw one hundred and fifty nine boxing matches spanning 1988-2020. A leader, an expert on Ratings, Executive Director and most importantly a colleague, how proud we are he was our friend.
His colleague and friend Jussi Niemonen summed one key element of a varied and so well lived life by saying: “Pertti loved and appreciated Boxing with all of his being.”
