Frenchman Nordine Oubaali (15-0, 11 KO), will defend the World Boxing Council bantamweight belt first the first time, on Saturday evening in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, against Filipino Arthur Villanueva (32-3-1, 18 KO), in a fight night that will be broadcast live on ESPN +.
Oubaali comes from winning the world crown by defeating American Rau’shee Warren in January.
Filipino Villanueva, a 30-year-old fighter with extensive experience, has full confidence that he will be able to surprise the world, becoming the new WBC champion.
Earlier today both warriors overcame the official weigh in. Coincidently they were each tipped (117.2 pounds).
