World Boxing Council bantamweight champion, Frenchman Nordine Oubaali successfully defended his WBC crown by defeating Arthur Villanueva by TKO at Arena Barys, in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Oubaali dominated from the outset. He sent Villanueva to the canvas in the sixth round and was on the verge of gaining a knockout, but the Filipino bravely survived the round.
During the break, Villanueva’s corner indicated that their fighter was not able to continue and it was stopped.
With this first defense of the crown, Oubaali improved his record to 16-0, with 12 knockouts, while Villanueva left the ring with a record of 32-4-1, with 18 knockouts.
