The two-division world champion, Mexican Rey Vargas and O’Shaquie Foster will fight for the vacant super featherweight title of the World Boxing Council, on Saturday, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Vargas (36-0, 22 KOs) last saw action in July, when he came off from the canvas to secure a twelve-round decision victory over Mark Magsayo.
Foster (19-2, 11 KOs) saw action in Dubai in March 2022, when he won a twelve-round decision to defeat Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov conquering the WBC Silver title fight.
O’Shaquie is very motivated by this long-awaited fight and for that reason he is doing a great preparation.
“I have worked for this moment my whole life. For me it has been a step by step. I went to Pennsylvania right after starting [again] and fought as the “B” side in [De Alba’s] hometown and beat him.
“It was definitely step by stepfor this moment.
“I feel that it is the most difficult test since he is a two-time world champion. And I’ll be fighting for a world title,” Foster said.
“I’m ready. Words really can’t explain it. It just took me a long time to get to this point. I feel like it’s time to show the world.”
