Mexican Oscar Valdéz could headline a card on July 21st at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, presented by Top Rank and broadcast on ESPN.
Valdez (27-0, 21KOs) debuted at super featherweight last year defeating tough fighter Adam López, surviving an early knockdown.
The victory earned Valdez, who trains with Eddy Reynoso, a bout against 130-pound World Boxing Council champion Miguel Berchelt (37-1, 33KOs). This fight had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Oscar’s rival could be Puerto Rican Jayson Velez (29-6-1, 22KOs) who is coming off a close loss against prospect Jaime Arboleda last February in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
