1967.- In combat between Americans, Curtis Cokes knocked out Charley Shipes in 8 rounds in Oakland, California. With this victory Cokes defended his WBC welterweight title.

1980.- In an attractive fight, Larry Holmes defeated Muhammad Ali by knockout in 11 rounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this fight the WBC heavyweight title was held.

1980.- At Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Saoul Mamby defended his WBC super lightweight title by defeating Maurice Watkins by decision.

1987.- At the Palazzo Dello Sport in Perugia, Italy, local fighter Gianfranco Rosi won the WBC super welterweight title by defeating Mexican Lupe Aquino.
