1959.- Mexican champion Salvador Sánchez Narváez was born in Santiago Tianguistenco. After conquering glory and being the WBC world champion, facing the best fighters of his time, he died in a car accident on August 12, 1982.
2002.- Vernon Forrest retained the WBC welterweight world championship, defeating Californian Shane Mosley by unanimous decision in 12 rounds. The battle was held at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
2013.- Argentine Lucas Matthysse was crowned WBC interim super lightweight champion by knocking out American Mike Dallas Jr. in one round, in a bout that took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
2014.- The WBC held the first José Sulaimán Champions Race, a unique event where you can run alongside the greatest boxing legends, plus all proceeds go to charity. This first WBC race was in honor of Don José Sulaimán.
