On this day in history, Iran Barkley shook the world by defeating Thomas “Hitman” Hearns by TKO in the third round; Hearns was floored 3 times during that round.

With this victory Iran conquered the WBC middleweight championship, which he would lose a couple pf months later on his first defense by being defeated by Roberto Duran.
