1975.- In Mexico City, British John Stracey was crowned WBC welterweight champion by knocking out Cuban Jose Nápoles in the sixth round.

1996.- In Buenos Aires, Argentina, local fighter Marcelo Dominguez defended his WBC cruiserweight title by knocking out José Arimatea in the eighth round.

1997.- Filipino Luisito Espinosa defended his WBC featherweight title by knocking out Carlos Alberto Rios in the sixth round. The fight took place in Korodonal, Philippines.

1997.- American Oscar De La Hoya defended his WBC welterweight title by knocking out Puerto Rican Wilfredo Rivera in the eighth round. The fight took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

2008.- British Carl Froch won the WBC super middleweight title by defeating Canadian Jean Pascal by decision. The fight took place in Nottingham, England.

2013.- Polish Krzysztof Wlodarczyk defended his WBC cruise title by knocking out Italian Giacobbe Fragomeni. The fight took place in Chicago, Illinois.

2013.- In Tokyo, Japan, local fighter Akira Yaegashi defended his WBC flyweight title by defeating Mexican Edgar Sosa by decision.
