1980.-In Miami Florida, Puerto Rican Wilfredo Gómez defended his WBC super bantamweight title by knocking out Jose Cervantes in the third round.

1991.- Frenchman Anaclet Wamba defended his WBC cruiserweight title by knocking out Italian Massimiliano Duran in Paris, France.

1991.- In Paris, France, North American Terry Norris defended his WBC super welterweight title by defeating Jorge Castro by decision.

1993.- Russian Yuri Arbachakov defended his WBC flyweight title by defeating Japanese Nam Hoon Cha by decision in Kyoto, Japan.

1994.- Mexican Miguel Ángel González defended his WBC lightweight title by knocking out Calvin Grove in the fifth round in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

2003.- The American Bernard Hopkins defeated William Joppy by decision in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In this fight the WBC middleweight title was at stake.
