1949.- John Joseph Monaghan, better known as “Rinty” Monaghan, who retuned to his country as a war hero after WW 2, became European and world flyweight champion defeating Maurice Sandeyron by UD, in a bout that took place at the Kings Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Referee was C.B. Thomas.

2003.- At the Leipziger Arena, in Leipzig, Germany, local fighter Markus Beyer won the WBC super middleweight title by defeating Canadian Eric Lucas by decision.

2014.- Mexican Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio knocked out Italian Domenico Spada in the tenth round, winning the WBC interim middleweight title. The bout ook place in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico.
