This morning in a press conference, Salomón Jara Cruz, Governor of the State of Oaxaca, the president of Scholas Ocurrentes and vice president of the WBC, Mr. Héctor Sulaimán and the first WBC Women´s champion, Jackie Nava presented the great card, Campeones de la Guelaguetza, card starring world champion Adrián “Gatito” Curiel and challenger Sivenathi Nontshinga, in a highly anticipated rematch.
For Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, this card is just the beginning of a dream that he has, and that is to position the state of Oaxaca as the boxing headquarters par excellence, since he is convinced that the card will attract even more tourism and many people will discover the cultural wonders. and gastronomy of this Mexican state that has it all.
He added that Oaxaca is living in times of change where one of the goals of its government is for boxing to be the sport of Oaxacans and with it become the way to inspire children and young people, but also for it to be the start on bringing people closer and together to a new generation of sport an culture.
He assured that recently, sport in general was very forgotten, but today, the Government has allocated four times more of the budget, which will make an enormous difference.
He thanked the WBC family in a very special way, because without their support none of this would have been possible and clearly to the great Star of the night Adrián Curiel.

He commented that at this boxing festival there will also be fitness boxing classes with Rosy Olvera, to raise awareness about the importance of practicing the sport, a WBC cares visit and even an amateur tournament.
