No show boating against Martinez! Edwards determined NOT to make “A proper Charlie of himself”
Fresh from his triumph against Angel Moreno by unanimous decision, World Boxing Council flyweight champion, Charlie Edwards who did a bit of flashy show boating, and almost got keel hauled by his corner for it, says it wont be repeated against the hard hitting number one challenger Julio Cesar Martinez, because he`s determined to avoid that sinking feeling.
Charlie recognized the quality and off the charts power of the Mexican Julio César Martinez, who earned the opportunity to contest the crown on Saturday by KO`ing Welshman Andrew Selby, in Toluca with a cannoning left hook to the liver. Charlie says the Green and Gold means the world to him and it`s the result of fifteen years hard unremitting work, starting before 6am daily.
Unsure of whether Martinez will be brought to the Tower of London and Tower Green for him to chop, Charlie did say their encounter is likely to be in: “The Old Smoke.” Regarding the WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, presenting a WBC belt to his Mum, who`s in a wheel chair, Charlie says this takes a big place in his heart and it means: “So much to us.”
