
Mexican Alexandro ‘Peque’ Santiago will defend his World Boxing Council bantamweight title against Japan`s Junto Nakatani on February 24 in Tokyo, Japan, as part of a mega card where Takuma Inoue will also face Jerwin Ancajas, while Kosei Tanaka will fight Christian Bacasegua.
The champion from Tijuana is taking a long journey to make his first defense of the world title that he won against the legendary Nonito Donaire last July. ‘Peque’ (28-3-5, 14 KO’s) arrives with a streak of four consecutive victories after his defeat in November 2021.
While undefeated Nakatani (25-0-0, 19 Ko’s) faces him at 118 pounds after having been champion in two different divisions, namely flyweight and super flyweight.
Junto opened his training camp to the media, where he demonstrated that he is in excellent condition for this important upcoming commitment.
