This Tuesday, July 16 in Tokyo, at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo Hotel, a press conference in which it was officially announced that the undisputed super bantamweight world champion, the sensational and undefeated Japanese Naoya “Monster” Inoue (27-0/24KOs), 31 years old, will face the world ranked, the Irish southpaw TJ Doheney (26-4/20KOs), 37 years old, on September 3 at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Naoya Inoue’s most recent fight took place in May 2024 at the Tokyo Dome in front of a huge crowd of 43,000 spectators and he was able to demonstrate his knockout power by demolishing Mexican Luis Nery.
At the press conference, Naoya Inoue commented: “In my fight against TJ Doheny, I will impose my speed and my boxing skills to defeat him quickly in an irrefutable way without any carelessness,
“My best presentation at the Tokyo Dome.”
Inoue assures that for the moment he has no intention of moving up to the featherweight category but that his current plan is to continue at super bantamweight, at least two more years in search of more glory.
