Filipino bantamweight contender Aston Palicte is in Melbourne, Australia to challenge local fighter and World Boxing Council Silver Champion Jason Moloney on Saturday at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
The ten-round bout will be broadcast on ESPN in the United States as part of the undercard headlined by the undisputed lightweight championship fight between George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney.
Moloney (23-2, 18 KOs) hails from nearby Mitcham, Victoria, Australia and is coming off two straight wins since he lost in his second attempt at a world title.
Palicte (28-4-1, 23 KOs) of Bago City feels confident in his preparation for the fight, as he is reunited with his former trainer Nonoy Neri, with whom he posted a ten-fight winning streak between 2013 and 2015.
Palicte, a two-time world title challenger, has won three fights in a row. Before becoming one of the top contenders.
Moloney won the World Boxing Council Silver Bantamweight title after dominating tough contender Joshua Greer Jr last year.
