Rankings are the method to list boxers qualitatively, involving a list of the best in each division.
There are 18 divisions or weights, from heavyweight to straw.
Don José Sulaimán joined the World Boxing Council in 1964, as a volunteer because he was passionate about boxing.
Already in 1966, he took on more formal responsibilities and in 1968 he instituted the WBC rankings. Since then, the world boxer rankings have been compiled month after month, this being one of the highest priorities of our activity.
Various Classification meetings were held during the #WBCUzbekistan Convention. The first with members of the Committee from all over the world, among them: Anson Wainwright, Daniel Van De Wiele, Nancy Rodríguez, Marcos Arienti, Nicolas Hidalgo, Miguel Angel De Pablos, Carlos Utrilla, Alberto Guerra, Luis Medina, Kevin Noone, Marina Milovanova , Mauro Betti, led by Dean Lohuis.
Among the topics of discussion, the Committee addressed a very important matter regarding: The Mismatch Prevention System.
