WBC super bantamweight champion Yamileth “Yeimi” Mercado, will defend her crown for the second time against the undefeated Angelica Rascon, on Saturday, June 26 at the Rodrigo M. Quevedo Gymnasium in Chihuahua City, Mexico.
Mercado, who has built a record of 17 wins with 5 knockouts and 2 losses, is ready and well trained with the firm goal of having a great fight in her homeland Chihuahua.
Yamileth, 22, was crowned in Chihuahua in 2019, defeating Kenyan Fatuma Zarika and became the first female boxer born there to win a world title.
On June 26, she will appear, already as world champion, defending her title against a very worthy rival who is well known in Chihuahua. The undefeated Texan “Mucuishle Sexymo” Rascón (10-0-0, 2 ko’s), has fpught seven of her ten fights there.
On the same card, the main undercard fight will feature solid prospect Argi Cortés (18-2-2, 8 ko’s), facing Daniel Argueta (13-2-0, 6 ko’s) at flyweight.
