This coming Saturday two determined Mexicans will step into the ring at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville for what is expected to be a war, contesting the vacant WBC super bantamweight title.
Luis Nery and Aaron Alameda will be fighting for the title vacated by former world champion Rey Vargas, who unfortunately during this quarantine suffered a broken leg that will keep him out of boxing for about 10 months. So, the WBC decided to name him Champion in Recess, and thus leave the title vacant.
The President of the WBC Mr Mauricio Sulaiman says that this is a very important fight, because they are two Mexicans willing to leave their souls in the ring and show who is the best super bantam and conquer the Green and Gold Belt.
He commented that this is the opportunity in which former bantamweight champion Luis Nery needs to show that he is a disciplined boxer and eager to return in style. However, he made it clear that it will not be an easy fight, since Alameda originally from Nogales, Sonora is a fighter who comes with all the hunger to become a champion and start writing his very own history.
Finally, he urged everyone not to miss out on this great card because that night the WBC will welcome a new world champion.
