Former three division champion Vasiliy Lomachenko from Ukraine convincingly defeated former champion from Ghana Richard Commey by unanimous decision this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lomachenko’s victory was resounding. He peppered resilient but slower Comey brilliant offensive precision and withstood some hard rights.
Comey won the first round, but after that Lomachenko comprehensively dominated.
The scorecards showed Lomachenko`s dominance with 117-110, 119-108 and 119-108. Commey was sent to the canvas towards the end of the seventh round with a short left hook and did well to survive.
Lomachenko, who showed, speed, firepower and glorious boxing skill, improved his record to 16-2, with 11 knockouts, while Commey is now 30-4, with 27 knockouts.
