Former world champion Jorge Linares (47-6, 29KOs) will face the local fighter Zaur Abdullaev (14-1, 8KOs) on February 19 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in a fight for the World Boxing Council Lightweight Silver title, which will also be eliminatory, at the RCC Boxing Academy.
On the same card, which will be broadcast to the United States on ESPN+ and to Latin America on ESPN KNOCKOUT, Mark Uranov (20-2-1, 10 KOs) will fight Angel Rodriguez (19-1, 10 KOs) and Russian Ivan Kozlovsky. (4-0, 2 KOs) vs. Zoravor Petrosian (12-1, 5 KOs).
Linares, who was a featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight champion, is ranked sixth in the WBC and Abdullaev fourth.
Linares, 36, lost an entertaining fight against Devin Haney. Abdullaev defeated former champion Dejan Zlaticanin by decision in his last fight.
