Former world champion, Venezuelan Jorge Linares (47-6, 29 KOs) will face Russian fighter Zaur Abdullaev (14-1, 8 KOs) on February 19th in Yekaterinburg, Russia, for the World Boxing Council Lightweight Silver title, which will also be eliminatory.
The location is the RCC Boxing Academy, and the winner of Linares and Abdullaev will be in an excellent position, poised to face champion Devin Haney, who`s expected to face Australian George Kambosos next, in a fight viz all 135-pound crowns.
Linares, who was a featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight champion, is ranked sixth in the WBC and Abdullaev fourth.
Linares, 36, recently lost an entertaining fight against Devin Haney. Abdullaev defeated former Montenegrin champion Dejan Zlaticanin by decision in his last fight.
