Former two-division world champion, Danny “Swift” Garcia fights Mexican-American Adrian Granados for the welter Silver Boxing World Boxing Council title at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, on Saturday, April 20, at an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions that will be broadcast on FOX and FOX Deportes.
Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) has fought with cream of the crop opponents at 140 and 147 pounds including Erik Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson.
Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs) has made a name for himself through his boxing skillsand big heart, in action-packed fights against Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner, and he`s very confident he has what it takes to defeat Garcia, warning that: “The race if not to the Swift!” But if he falls short, this could be his opportunity!
Granados, originally from Chicago and whose parents are Mexican, commented: “I think this could be my last chance to be a prominent star in world boxing. I am very motivated and doing a great preparation. We’re going out the night of the fight to put pressure on Danny and hurt him with some constant punching. I’m going to win the WBC Silver title.”
