Dra Eunice Rendón, Coordinator of the KO Don’t Throw in the Towel Program, says tomorrow there will be a tournament at the Tenango del Valle Penitentiary Center, sponsored by the Chepera Gymnasium.
KO Don’t Throw in the Towel is a joint effort, with the WBC, Red Viral and various authorities viz penitentiary matters.
Dra Eunice Rendón, general coordinator of the project, “Knockout” do not throw in the towel, joined us today in our “Coffee Tuesday” to talk about this program, that has been active for more than 9 years and that has yielded significant results thanks to the combined work with the WBC, Red Viral and government institutions.
She explained that this initiative aims to develop social, psychological and work tools that allow inmates to reintegrate into society once they are released from prison, as well as reduce levels of violence at the individual, family and community levels, having two main components: sports plus psycho-emotional.
DraRendón spoke about how important it is to work with the most vulnerable parts of the community and she gave a very special thank you to the WBC for unwavering loyal support.
She mentioned that schemes should be sought that contribute to reintegration through comprehensive interventions that directly address physical, psycho-emotional and social needs. Boxing Clinics, Motivational Talks, Forgiveness and Reconciliation Workshops, Family Coexistences, Psychological Care, among other vital strategies.
Eunice and WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, thanked the Chepera Gym for their wonhelp, as they have been instrumental in the development of this program in Tenango de Valle.
