World Boxing Council Super Bantamweight Champion Rey Vargas (33-0, 22 KOs) will face skillful Japanese interim champion, Tomoki Kameda (36-2, 20 KOs) this Saturday in Carson, California and it’ll be broadcast by DAZN.
The undefeated Mexican champion will seek to make the fifth defense of the belt, while the Japanese warrior, who’s Interim champion, is aiming to become absolute Monarch.
Both fighters participated in an intense public training. At its conclusion they commented:
Rey Vargas: “Kameda is a good fighter and I’m not underestimating him. I know he wants revenge for his defeat against me when we were amateurs. But I’m focusing on defeating Kameda. If God wants and everything goes well, we can think of unifying my WBC crown.”
Tomoki Kameda: “I’m very well prepared, I had a good camp in Osaka, Japan. I fought against Vargas as an amateur and I know his high technical style, but I’m ready to execute what we worked on so hard in the camp. I’m sure I’ll win on Saturday night!”
