Today, two Mexican prospects were an important part of our Coffee Tuesday as they both came to be recognized for their first achievements in professional boxing.
Juan “Elegante” Martínez, is an active member of the Mexico City police, and for this reason, the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, recognized him.
On July 23, Juan conquered the NABF JR crown. Bantamweight defeating tough Alexis Pech Che with great technique and last weekend, he overcame a knee injury to win the Latin American Continental belt against José “Veneno” López via UD.
“Thank you all for this award. This is the result of my work, but also that of my father and that of my entire team.” Juan Martinez thanked.
For his part, Héctor Escobar traveled from Culiacán to receive the FECARBOX Feather crown that he recently won.
“It is a dream for me to be on this stage. I am very happy to have won and disputed my first title. Thanks to all my team. It is a great achievement, but there is still more to come.”
The President of the WBC, motivated both young prospects to not stop fighting for their dreams:
“Just as you are here now, one day, JC Chávez came with my dad to a conference like this. You can be the next Chavez of Mexico. Never stop fighting for your goals. They have the talent and heart to achieve glory.”
