Ivana and Drazen

Croatia celebrated a Drazen Petrovic Memorial boxing show at the Sports Hall in the city of Zabok, just north of the capital Zagreb.

In the main event local heroine Ivana Habazin defeated former World Champion Diana Prazak by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBC Female Silver Welterweight Championship.

The show took place on what would have been Petrovic‘ 58th birthday. The former NBA superstar, who is considered of one of the very best European basketball players in history, passed away in June 1993 at the age of only 28 years after a car accident.

His Mother’s Biserka was present at the Memorial event and received a special WBC belt in honor of her son. He will forever be remembered and cherished.

This event combined a fond and revered memory and a current triumph, combining to form a pearl of great significance.
