Historic agreement between the WBC & Hacienda Nueva Vida rehabilitation clinic

This morning at the traditional “Coffee Tuesday” an ultra important agreement was signed between the WBC and the specialized addiction clinic Hacienda Nueva Vida with, the commitment of both organizations of helping any person in the boxing family who needs this support.

Hacienda Nueva Vida is that bright light beacon of hope, for hundreds of young people who, due to various situations, have fallen into alcohol or drug addiction.

Aaron Silva, director general of the specialized addiction clinics Hacienda Nueva Vida, explained that the struggle of these young people should belong to everyone, because we as a society, must care and share.

Heart rending testimonies from some young people, who showed that their addiction led them to suffer a day and night hell, not only placing their integrity but their very lives at risk; However, Hacienda Nueva Vida was the haven, offering peace and brokering a brake to leave this life of excesses.

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaimán, assured that the organization will always be in their corner and urged everyone affected and afflicted not to be defeated in this fight.

For the WBC President, this type of rehabilitation programs are of utmost importance, because the comprehensive help they provide is the key to recovery. And it is worth mentioning that this institution has a great boxing program that has become a way to channel emotions, and as we all know, sport is a fundamental part of the healthy development of any individual.

Former world champion Mariana Juárez, who was a special guest at this firm, could not hold back her tears when talking about the suffering that an addicted person lives, as well as their entire family and the people around them.

The WBC President presented a replica of the iconic belt to the director of Hacienda Nueva Vida, Aaron Silva, as a reminder to young people that dreams are possible to realize, as long as they work with dedication, determination and focus.

This event was attended by great boxing idols including current world champion Lulú Juárez, plus former champions Pipino Cuevas, Francisco Vargas, Carlos Cuadras, Moises Fuentes, as well as David Picasso, a young man who despite his youth, has achieved great feats, earning him a recent medal for sporting merit from the Mexico City Congress.
