Dalton Smith (UK – 139,40) stopped Ireland’s Ray Moylette (139,45) in the 10th and final round to win the vacant WBC International 140lbs Silver title.
Irish cornerman Pascal Collins threw in the towel after his man was dropped twice in that round.
It turned out to be a highly competitive fight, with the winner and new champion, deducted two points in round seven for a clear low blow doubled with a left hook to the chin of Moylette, who was given time to recover by Referee John Latham.
Another body shot in round eight but the referee did not take any action although Moylette was dropped again.
The end came in round ten when Moylette suffered two knockdowns and the towel was thrown in, at two minutes and thirteen seconds.
Dalton Smith was clearly ahead on points when the fight was stopped.
He remains unbeaten with a bright future.
Matchroom UK promoted the show in Leeds last Saturday.
