World Boxing Council light heavyweight champion, Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk, will face IBF Champion, Russian Artur Beterbiev, in an interesting unification clash of the 175 pounds, this Friday at the Liacouras Center, in Philadelphia, United States. The fight is promoted by Top Rank and will be televised on ESPN.
For Oleksandr Gvozdyk, this will be his fourth world title match. With just 15 fights, he won the interim title in March 2018, when he defeated Mehdi Amar, in New York.
Then, he faced champion Adonis Stevenson, who he stopped in 11 rounds.
In his last fight last March, Oleksandr Gvozdyk defended the crown by beating Doudou Ngumbu, and now he is getting ready to face Artur Beterbiev, a champion who has two successful defenses, with 14 knockouts in 14 fights.
Artur Beterbiev won the vacant title in November 2017, when he beat Enrico Koelling, making defenses against Callum Johnson and Radivoje Kalajdzic.
Beterbiev and Gvozdyk will go this clash with a combined 31-0 record with 28 knockouts.
Gvozdyk-Beterbiev will head a special edition of Top Rank on ESPN starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. It`ll be broadcast live on ESPN + starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
