Embraced by the hospitality of Sport and Chips, the WBC family enjoyed its traditional Martes de Café conference.
This time on Wednesday, it happened, not only to talk about all the boxing activity, but also to celebrate Christmas festivities with the champions and Mexican media stalwarts.
Tucking into the hearty traditional year-end breakfast, the WBC family enjoyed great camaraderie. No shortage of anecdotes, jokes and memories. As WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, commented:
“This year has been magnificent for sport. New champions and we made history with the Convention in Uzbekistan. We celebrated out 60th anniversary, but also difficult moments, as it was a year where we said goodbye to so many friends.
“However, today we are here celebrating boxing, life and unity, bidding farewell to a year for which we only owe gratitude.
“For my father Don José Sulaimán, the commitment of the WBC was always to be the helping hand of the boxers, to open the doors to everyone and make them feel that this is their home and today I want to reiterate to you that is and will continue to be my mission.
“For the Sulaiman family, Christmas has always been a very special date, of being together but also a moment of reflection where we have a new opportunity to close and open new cycles and thereby become a better version of ourselves.
“Thank you all for being here, for being part of the WBC, for your loyalty and your tireless work, I sincerely wish you a great 2024.”
Enthused with the joy and vivid memories of a great 2023, our world champions who were the special guests of this event, shared with those present their festive joy.
