“Fasten your belts…it`s going to be a bumpy night,” as Golden Boy has just significantly increased its power and presence in Women’s Boxing by signing of the versatile and charismatic Franchon “The Heavy-Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn (4-1, 1 knockout), who`s World Boxing Council female super middleweight champion.
Crews-Dezurn will return in a 10 round bout against an opponent who will be confirmed shortly. The event will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Ovation Hall of the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The matches will be broadcast live globally on Facebook through the Golden Boy Fight Night Page.
Crews-Dezurn, who`s from Virginia Beach, Virginia, currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a prominent and successful amateur, who competed nationally and internationally, making her professional debut against Olympic double-fighter Claressa “T-Rex” Shields, who also debuted that very same day. Despite losing in a close decision, following an outright war, Crewz-Dezurn has since notched three victories, before conquering the WBC super middleweight title by defeating Maricela “La Diva” Cornejo by decision.
She said: “I’m excited to sign with Golden Boy because they are a so powerful in pro boxing. Not only will I be working with legendary fighters, Oscar de la Hoya and Bernard Hopkins, but also with Canelo Álvarez and that offers me something to aspire to in becoming a versatile fighter. As you can see, Golden Boy trusts women’s boxing. They`ve given me my first chance at national television.”
