Super-flyweight Supremo Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada has now fully recovered from Covid 19 and is training for his next fight.
The virus obliged him to withdraw from the trilogy with Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, who then fought WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez, who moved up a weight to take on the formidable Nicaraguan. In a glittering career, Gallo has also fought Carlos Cuadras twice and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai twice. Now, he`s on the way back.
At the World Boxing Council`s Martes A Cafe Press Conference in Sports and Chips, Mexico City, Juan Francisco (42-3, 28 KO`s) looking in superb shape said his return fight will be on August 27th in the Border City of Sonora, against an opponent to be determined.
Juan Francisco is very complimentary about current WBC super-flyweight champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, saying of the southpaw wunderkind: “Jesse Rodriguez is a young man who brings everything. a great fighter who is a tricky southpaw. Hopefully we`ll fight in the coming year. It will be a great fight against him.”
As for the recuperation from Covid 19, Gallo said it started in January and hit him hard for a month and affected his breathing, but he`s overcome it and is now back to full health….Thank God.
