Fury confirms charity donation
Tyson Fury has insisted he donated his $13 million (£7m) purse from his heavyweight showdown with Deontay Wilder to charity.
Fury vowed to give away the money ahead of his showdown with WBC champion Wilder in December after he was shocked by the number of homeless people he saw in Los Angeles where he was based.
“The Gypsy King” confirmed to fans during an Evening with Tyson Fury show in Cardiff on Friday that he had kept his promise and given the money to charity.
“I did give away my last purse but I don’t do charity work for a pat on the back,” Fury said. “I do it to help people but I do not wait praise for it. I don’t want to be called a do-gooder.”
