Fortieth anniversary of Sal Sánchez passing to be held in his Santiago Tianguistengo on Friday

The boxing family will meet to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the passing of one of the greatest champions that Mexico has produced, the unforgettable Salvador “Sal” Sánchez.

Tomorrow, hundreds of people will gather in Santiago Tianguistenco, State of Mexico, to cheer, applaud and fondly remember the Great Salvador Sánchez, 40 years after his tragic death.

Sulio Sanchez, Salvador’s brother, was present at the weekly WBC conference to invite everyone to the mass that will take place at noon in the Cathedral of Santiago Tianguistenco.
After the religious ceremony there will be a procession to the pantheon, where the remains of Sal Sánchez rest, to pay him a posthumous tribute.
Later, the Sánchez Narváez family will offer a meal at the Municipal Auditorium, where a ring will be installed for the traditional amateur boxing card.
