The British Ministry of Mental Health, is commending the efforts of former WBC world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno to help people with mental health problems stay in work, through a program of controlled non-contact boxing classes.
Bruno has spoken openly about how exercise has played a vital role in his battle with mental health issues.
The Frank Bruno Foundation was created in 2017 and offers wellbeing programs and structured non-contact boxing sessions for anyone over the age of 10 who has mental health issues.
A job retention plan is central to the Foundation’s work, which aims to help professionals with mental health difficulties stay in work and prevent long-term illness. And an innovative comprehensive service helps professionals deal with other contributing struggles, such as housing, money concerns, addiction, family difficulties, and grief.
