WBC light flyweight champion Kenshiro “The Amazing Boy” Teraji and WBO champion Jonathan “Bomba” González will clash in a twelve round battle that will bring the winner one step closer to becoming the undisputed king of the division.
The five-fight event, which will take place at the Ariake Arena in Koto-Ku, Japan on April 8, will also feature the professional boxing debut of Tenshin Nasukawa. The former champion in multiple kickboxing divisions will face Yuki Yonaha in a special six-round super bantamweight attraction.
Teraji (20-1, 12 KOs) captured his first world championship when he defeated Ganigan Lopez for the WBC 108-pound belt.
Teraji made eight successful defenses before losing by TKO in the tenth round to Masamichi Yabuki. The feisty 31-year-old avenged his loss by knocking out Yabuki in the third round of their rematch to regain the title.
Teraji then scored the most impressive victory of his career last November by knocking out Hiroto Kyoguchi in the seventh round to unify the WBC and WBA championships.
González (27-3-1, 14 KOs) spent several years fighting elite flyweight opponents, including a loss to Kosei Tanaka. The skilled Puerto Rican southpaw has been undefeated in all five of his bouts since moving down to light flyweight in 2020. In October 2021, González upset Mexico’s Elwin Soto for the WBO belt.
Teraji-Gonzalez, Nasukawa-Yonaha and additional bouts will be broadcast live and exclusively in the United States in the early hours of the morning on ESPN+.+.
