World Boxing Council super middleweight Champion, American Anthony Dirrell, will defend his crown for the first time when he faces former champion David “Red Flag” Benavidez, this Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The final press conference of this card was held, where Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell and former world champion David “The Red Flag” Benavidez, talked for the last time before stepping into the ring.
Dirrell did not predict the outcome of this weekend, in general terms he said: “I definitely think I am a much smarter fighter. I have much more experience than him and on 28 everyone will discover my fight plan.”
Dirrell won the vacant WBC belt after defeating Avni Yildirm by technical decision in 10 rounds last February.
Benavidez said: “This fight is very important. I will recover the green and gold title. This is one of the biggest fights of my career. I have no doubt that I will go out with my hand up. ”
