At “Coffee Tuesday” The WBC welcomed Alan David Picasso, a young man with a “Sunday Punch,” who with youthful stepts, is striding towards the fulfilment of his dream: the conquest of the Green and Gold Belt.
This weekend, Picasso will travel to Mérida to face his tough rival Alfredo Mejía in the sports arena “Inalámbrica” and although David is completely focused on his complicated duel of this weekend, the young fighter did not miss the opportunity to raise his hand and ask the President of the World Boxing Council for an opportunity in the future to contest the WBC belt in the super bantamweight division.
After this declaration, members of the press questioned his emotional, sporting, and physical maturity. He expertly parried, commenting that he is prepared, feeling comfortable in the division, with his feet on the ground thanks to the love and example of his family and commented that along with his sports dream, he continues to be focused on his professional career as a scientist since he is currently in third year of his degree in physics and recently managed to start a second degree in neuroscience at UNAM.
The President of the WBC thanked him for his presence and enthusiasm, recognizing him as a young man of noble values, a great ambassador for sport and studies at the highest levels. To close, he wished him luck towards his next fight and commented that if he continues like this, we will soon see him be crowned world champion, as well as developing his career as a scientist for the benefit of the service and the Mexican people.
